Stage One:

The first stage of Ibstock Place School’s 11+ assessment requires applicants to sit the online ISEB Common Pre-Tests. These are multiple-choice, adaptive and age-standardised tests.

These tests cover:

• English

• Mathematics

• Verbal reasoning

• Non-verbal reasoning

Practical details Ibstock Place gives for Stage One:

• The ISEB Pre-Tests are usually completed at your child’s current school on a date set by that school (before Ibstock’s deadline for receiving results).

• If your child can’t sit them at their current school, Ibstock notes an option to sit them at Ibstock in November.

• Overseas candidates can take them at the British Council or an approved testing centre.

• Registration is via the ISEB Guardian Portal, and Ibstock asks families to share the child’s ISEB Applicant ID.

Stage Two:

Ibstock Place’s second assessment stage includes:

• A Learning Workshop (small-group problem-solving task)

• A 30-minute written paper (short creative writing task)

• A one-to-one meeting with a teacher
