Highgate sets an entrance exam composed of:

• English (45 minutes) – 30 minutes of comprehension and analysis and 15 minutes of creative writing, which reflect the KS2 National Curriculum.
• Maths (45 minutes) – 45 minutes of questions involving mathematical problem solving. This paper is designed so no specific syllabus or preparation is necessary.
• Non-Verbal Reasoning (45 minutes) – multiple-choice test set by GL Assessment, testing logic and reasoning with the relationships between abstract figures and shapes. This paper is created by GL Assessment.
