Admissions information for 2025 entry to Wallington High School at 11 Plus (11+)

Applications for Year 7 entry into Wallington High School for Girls will be made available on their website from May until August 2024. They will host an open event in July which you can find further details for on their website.

Both of Wallington High School for Girls’ entrance exams will be held in the autumn term of 2024 and they will consist of two stages; your child must pass Stage 1 in order to be invited to participate in Stage 2.

However, your child will not necessarily secure a place if they make it onto the ranking list following these two entrance exams; you must submit a Common Application Form (CAF) and wait to hear back the results in March 2025.

How can I register my child for the 11 Plus (11+) exam at Wallington High School?

To register your child for the entrance exams, you as their parent/legal guardian must complete the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) which will be made available in May 2024 on Wallington High School for Girls’ website.

On your child’s Common Application Form (CAF) which is issued by your home local authority, you must write down ‘Wallington High School’ and submit the CAF by the end of October 2024.

In addition, in the case of oversubscription, priority will be given to applicants in the following order:

  • Looked after, or previously Looked After, children
  • Pupil Premium (PP) children
  • Children in the highest rank order according to their predicted Average Point Score
  • They also have a catchment area which is a 6.7km radius from the entrance of the main school building

It is important to note that the Published Admission Number (PAN), the number of places available for Year 7 entry, is 210.

What is the 11 Plus (11+) entrance exam format at Wallington High School?

The exam format is divided into two stages.

Stage 1: Selective Eligibility Test (SET)

The SET is comprised of two 45-minute multiple-choice tests:

  • Maths
  • English

If students pass the SET test, Wallington High School for Girls will invite them to return to the school for the Second Stage Test.

Stage 2: Second Stage Test

The Second Stage Test does not offer multiple-choice options:

  • Maths (standard format)
  • English (the child will be given a prompt for a writing task)

The total score for the entrance test is calculated by adding the Second Stage Test marks to half of the aggregate SET marks, where each part has equal weighting. The school then creates ranked lists from these total scores.
