Sutton High School is an independent day school for girls aged 3-18 based in Sutton, Greater London. The school, which was founded in 1884 by the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), leads with the motto ‘Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter’ meaning ‘with courage, with truth, with joy’ and cares for over 700 pupils. They offer a wide range of activities beyond their academic curriculum including sports, music, and performing arts clubs which their pupils can engage in through their various facilities such as a 25m swimming pool, dance studio, 11 tennis/netball courts, playing field, sports hall, drama studio, and theatre.

Some of their highlights have been sending their Choir on tours of Europe to perform at locations such as Disneyland Paris, trips to the Alps, Galapagos Islands and Iceland, as well as their Year 10 class of 2018 forming a partnership with phone case company, Mous, to successfully send an iPhone 36 km into space with a high altitude balloon. They also have an enrichment programme dedicated to challenging their students with courses like ceramics, cake decorating, ancient Greek, digital photography, and magic.

The school saw some impressive results in 2022 with over half of their students A-Level grades being A*-A and 80% of pupils securing a place at their first choice university. As for their GCSE results, four of their pupils achieved straight 9 grades and 25% of their pupils achieved straight 9-8 grades. In their most recent inspection, the ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) reported that the school was ‘Excellent’ overall and wrote that “Pupils thrive in the positive atmosphere created by the school leaders and teachers across all parts of the school”.
