Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) is an independent day school for girls, located in Hampton, London. Recognised nationally for their academic and sporting endeavours, they are considered one of the highest achieving schools in the county. [1]

In 2022, the school achieved some impressive results with 95% of A Level results awarded grades A*-B and 95% of all GCSE results being awarded grades 9-7. [2]

LEH offers a broad curriculum that encompasses traditional subjects, such as English, modern and ancient languages, maths, humanities and science. Pupils are also given the opportunity to explore less conventional subjects, such as computing and design technologies, art, music and drama. LEH has state-of-the-art facilities which enhance the teaching of all of these subjects. [3]

Alongside its excellent academic record, Lady Eleanor Holles offers a vast range of extra and co-curricular activities and societies to encourage its students to explore their interests and grow into well-rounded individuals. The extracurricular programme caters to every interest, offering activities from sports and music clubs to Airgineers Drone Club and Current Affairs Society. The school also offers students the chance to earn their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award and runs several national and international trips. [4]

Admissions information for 2024 entry to Lady Eleanor Holles at 11 Plus (11+)

The school strongly recommends that prospective students and their parents attend one of Lady Eleanor Holles’ open events. LEH’s next Open Events will take place on 15, 20, and 26 September 2023. Booking is available till the beginning of November 2023. You can book and find out more information about this event on the LEH website. Please ensure you book these open events early, as places tend to fill up quickly.

This will allow you and your child to familiarise yourself with the facilities, meet the staff, and ensure LEH is the right choice for you.

LEH is an academically selective school and every place is competitively sought after. The deadline for LEH registration is 7 November 2023. The 11+ entrance examination includes the following papers:

  • The Independent Schools Examination Board (ISEB) Common Pre-Test

References and reports will then be collected from each pupil’s current school. Results are sent out in mid-January 2024 and candidates may then be invited for an interview in late-January 2024.

LEH is heavily oversubscribed. If LEH has to decide between two or more candidates who meet their entry requirements after all allowances and special considerations (i.e. if there has been a recent bereavement that affected their performance in the tests) have been given, they may give preference to:

  • A candidate who already has a sister at the school
  • A candidate whose parent or guardian is a current member of staff
  • A candidate with a particular skill or talent
