Herschel Grammar School is a co-educational grammar school with academy status for 11 to 18-year-olds in Slough, Berkshire. The school was established in 1952 and supports around 900 students.

Excellent facilities are on offer for Herschel students such as an AstroTurf, tennis courts, and sports field. The school also offers a rich variety of extracurricular activities like martial arts, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, orchestra, and drama club as well as an annual skiing trip.

Herschel’s core values are responsibility, success, and care. They express that they are committed to building students’ “social and emotional skills, knowledge, and behaviours” for the future and promise that their students will graduate from Herschel as “self-confident, tolerant, and fulfilled individuals” who contribute to their local community.

Their impressive academic performance is reflected in their 2022 results with around 79% of GCSEs results being grade 9-7 and 72% of A Levels being A*-B. Moreover, in their most recent report, Ofsted, who rated Herschel as an ‘Outstanding’ school, wrote of the school: “Pupils thrive in the school’s academic, yet very caring and secure, environment.”
