Candidates applying for 2024 entry to Year 7 at Croydon High School will take an adaptive online test in January 2024.

Adaptive testing is when a test responds to the answers your child is giving and increases or decreases the difficulty depending on how well they are doing. This means that each child’s experience is personalised and unique.

The exam will test the following areas:

  • Numeracy
  • Problem-solving
  • Vocabulary

This test is designed to assess your child’s potential, examining how they think, rather than the information they already know.

Alongside the 11+ exam, the school will carry out a teaching activity, after which the girls will be asked to complete a task based on the skills and content taught in the lesson. This gives the school the opportunity to interact with the candidates individually in an informal interview process. The intention of this exercise is to assess a girl’s natural potential and performance in a class environment.
