Admissions information for 2027 entry to Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School at 11 Plus (11+)

Children become eligible for a place at Chislehurst and Sidcup through the Bexley Selection Test, run by the London Borough of Bexley for all four of its grammar schools. Around 800 grammar places are available across the four schools for September 2027. There is no published pass mark: the council and the four schools agree the selective score each year.

A child who is deemed selective and has an Education, Health and Care plan naming the school is admitted before any other criteria are applied. After that, when the school is oversubscribed, priority runs in this order: looked after and previously looked after children; up to 12 places for children eligible for the Pupil Premium, ranked by distance; the 180 highest-scoring children who name the school; children with a sibling in Years 7 to 12 at the school; children of staff employed for at least two years; and then distance, measured as the shortest radial line from home to the Hurst Road entrance. Where two distances are identical to within 0.001 of a mile the higher test score wins, and if scores are also equal a place is allocated at random.

Make sure you check the school’s current admission arrangements for the full ordered list before you apply. At the time of writing the school has published its arrangements for entry in September 2026; the ordered criteria normally carry forward from one year to the next, but the 2027 document is the one to rely on once it appears.

You do not register with Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School for the Bexley Selection Test. Registration is completed with the London Borough of Bexley, which runs the test on behalf of all four grammar schools.
