Alleyn’s Junior School on Townley Road in Dulwich is the co-educational junior school of Alleyn’s School. The 7+ into Year 3 is its second regular entry point after 4+, and a small one: around 8 to 10 new children join the year group.

With single figures of places most years, the Alleyn’s 7+ is one of the tighter doors in south London. The two-stage structure at least means every child gets a full hearing: stage 1 on 8 January 2027 is the written morning (English comprehension and creative writing, maths across number, shape, measure and data, and reasoning), and invited children return on Saturday 16 January for non-verbal reasoning, a reading test, small-group activities and an individual interview.

Offers come by email on 28 January, with acceptance due by midday on 5 February. There are no bursaries at this entry point, and siblings get no automatic place, only a tie-break between similarly performing candidates.

What is the 7 Plus (7+) assessment format at Alleyn’s Junior School?
